I did not Photoshop this picture, my friend Alpha Suicune did.
Name: Sulteron Koagle
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Profession: Trainer
Hometown: Twinleaf
Description; Personality: Years of harsh treatment have made Sulteron rather shy, and in some ways, mysterious. She can retreat into her 'shell' when she feels threatened, ignoring everything that is going on outside. She is sensitive to negative comments, and always afraid of people making fun of her. She only feels open in front of a few people; for example, her twin brother.
Away from the shyness and mystery, behind the harsh and brazen outer cover, Sulteron is actually a very jolly and good-natured person. She follows strong moralities, being kind and generous to others. She has a wild and vivid imagination, which she lets loose when she is bored; perhaps in school lessons, or during long journeys. In her colourful fantasies, she battles huge monsters and elite trainers, dances with fairies and spirits, rides with dragons and elves - or even just gets off school.
Despite all this, Sulteron often worries about her daemon, Jizu. She has heard about Pokemorph daemons being a little different to that of ordinary humans, and has definately come across some of those traits in her own daemon. She and Jizu can get rather far apart, and she has a feeling that Jizu will not be able to settle. She can see both good and bad points about this.
Sulteron enjoys having her own personal space, slipping quietly into her room if she feels threatened or sad. There, she can work out her problems on her own; safe and secluded, cut off from the cold of the rest of the world in her own warm little burrow. Her parents often disapprove of this; saying that she won't be able to hide for ever, and has to face the world; but Sultaron enjoys tackling problems and hurts on her own, in her own, personal way.
Often, Sulteron can get very emotional, and is prone to acute bouts of joy, sadness, misery or delight. Often, these enhanced and rich emotions get too much, and she has to let them out. Her favourite way of doing this is by drawing. Sulteron is very artistic, and can let her thoughts, feelings and emotions overflow onto the canvas, putting her soul onto the paper, chanelling her spirit through the brush or pencil. These drawings and paintings vary; sometimes they are short, sketchy doodles, sometimes elaborate, breathtaking masterpieces; but every one is able to convey her emotions in the same stunning way. She paints scenes of pokémon, dancing and celebrating; of tragedy, death and despair; of landscapes, cold and mysterious, and shrouded in secrets as thick as the fog that blankets them; of ancient tribal ceremonies, historic battles and events. She signs each one; a strange, loping signiature, usually in Greek. She is very modest, and can often be seen blushing when told one of her drawings is good.
She finds comfort in the presence of animals and pokémon. They don't judge you like people do; among them, you can be what you are and nobody will mind. Sulteron enjoyed this freedom of spirit, and often used to sneak out of the house when she was bored. She had a favourite field she would go to, with a stream babbling past, and there she would spend many happy hours with the mice and rabbits, and the pokémon of the field. Her parents disapproved of this too, and would drag her back home whenever they found she was out there.
Sulteron is a bit of an oddball in that she has always had mild psychic powers. This was probably due to some kind of genetic default; though Sulteron's genes, compared to those of many other 'morphs, are ordered and neat, the genes of an Eevee are still very prone to mutation. Or perhaps the gods took a hand at her birth, and somebody high up in the clouds decided 'she should become an Espeon; let's give her premature psychic powers'. She can sense people's thoughts and emotions, and can use Telepathy. More recently, since her psychic powers blossomed as she evolved, she has come to master Telekenisis (moving things with just the power of her mind). However, her telepathic communications with many people are often dismissed as the first signs of insanity, or in some cases, posession. This, naturally, rather puts her off.
Description; Appearance: Sulteron has smooth and silky golden brown hair that falls to just below her shoulder. It's relatively thick and straight, although it isn't always so well kept; Espeon ears in a refreshing, bright mint green poke indignantly through and mess it up quite effectively. Tufts of fur spring from either side of her face just below her smooth cheekbones, again matching an Espeon. The same fur licks along the edge of her face, before fading out. Her eyes are a soft lilac. They are deeper than they appear, but not many look into them after the shock of the colour. They reflect sunlight, even if there's only the tiniest bit around, and turn more vivid in bright light. She has a beautiful, glowing red orb on her forehead, patterned with swirls of mist and spirals. Shades of every red imaginable deck its polished surface, and a pale star-like pattern glimmers in its depths. Even from a distance it is noticeable, stark against her tanned skin, tainted nut-brown.
Around her neck Sulteron always wears her most precious item - a locket, dangling from a chain of pure gold. It seems to be from long ago; curious runes are embossed upon its polished surface, and there is no date. It must be very expensive, or even a priceless artifact, as it is etched with carvings of ancient events and pokemon, and is embedded with rubies to match the orb on her head. Inside are photos of people believed to be her ancestors.
She tries not to attract much attention; her past was unhappy, and she was often bullied for being a 'freak'. Blending into the crowd is hard for her as, being a shiny espeon, the pokemon parts of her are bright green. Her clothes follow a uniform muted palette, pale or dark colours. Cheap, patched and worn blue-grey or brown jeans cover her lower half, and a polo neck, usually pale green or dark red, adorns her torso. It's always relatively plain; no patterns, nothing that would make her particularly noticeable in a crowd. Her feet ar pointed and angular, in a feline hind paw-like style. Trainers are ill-fitting on her, and so she normally wears loose sandals on her feet, if anything. Her tail provides further problems; Sulteron has to cut a hole in the seat of her pants to allow her tail room to poke through, usually achieved by crudely tearing it open with a knife or a pair of scissors. Sulteron, not much of a tailor, often cut the hole too small, so her tail, after a substantial amount of struggling, rips it to the correct size.
You could not describe Sulteron as particularly short; she stands at 149cm (not counting the extra 30-or-so cm gained by her prominent ears), a height she's perfectly happy with. Her figure has yet to develop any curves, but it is sleek and streamlined with elegant limbs. This is possibly due to her being part Espeon; whatever the case, Sulteron enjoy her athlete's physique, taking every opportunity to show off her physical prowess by running, jogging or leaping.
Description; History: Sulteron - along with her twin brother, Denkou - were born into the harsh costume of a Pokémorph. Their genes are rather neatly arranged, lacking the disorganisation of most experiments-gone-morphed. There is a neat and almost indistinguishable blend of human and pokémon; and this is mainly due to the fact their parents were Pokémorphs too. Their tale is really rather lamentable.
The child stumbled along, anxiously clutching at her mother's hand. Soft, velvety toddler's boots made a muted scuffling sound on the concrete tiles underfoot, and her wide, chocolate-brown eyes stared blearily up at the imposing figure that walked beside her. The child, no older than three, found reassurance in the warmth and strength of her mother's grip, in such a cold, dank place.
"Where we going, mommy?"
Her voice was high-pitched, and sounded tinny as it reverberated off the tall, brick buildings. Her mother smiled, the gold 'G' insignia pinned to her breast winking in the dull anbaric glow of the street lamps.
"We're going to the lab tonight, deary. We'll probably have to spend the night there; the boss needs our help working on a project." The woman's voice was smooth and rich, the words spilling off her toungue as easily as if they were no more than water, or smooth honey. "Don't worry, it's nice and warm, and you can stay in a room with Benjamin."
The child threw a warm smile at her older brother, striding along on the other side of the pavement, near the kerb.
"Can't I have my own room? Lentian snores really loud-"
"Now come on, Benjamin." Their mother gently cuffed the young ginger on the cheek with a delicate, pale-skinned hand. Lentian could see the rich crimson of her nail varnish, her wide eyes reflected off the polished nail. "Lentian needs someone strong like you to keep her safe."
Lentian didn't fully understand the brief interchange going on around her - she was still young, with an uneasy grip on the English language, but she nodded appealingly at her brother all the same. He snorted, but after a few seconds began to nod too.
"Good." cooed the mother. "We can't have arguments, now can we? The Professor has something important to say to us."
A few scuffling noises could be heard from behind the door. For a moment, frowns creased her mother's smooth brow; but only for a second. She reached out a hand, turning the smooth brass doorknob with practised ease and pushing open the door, which slid open on well-oiled hinges, barely making a sound. A few scientists were huddled over in one corner; that seemed to be the epicenter of the noises. One glanced up and hurried over, grinning apoligetically and nervously running a hand through his matted and greasy hair.
"Ah. Mrs Koagle, we were expecting you..."
The woman brushed past him, barely giving him a sideways glance.
"Of course you were. You will, of course, show me to the doctor? He asked to speak with me."
When the scientist spoke again, his voice was lathered with sticky sweetness and false respect, and he wrung his hands as he spoke.
"Of course, madam. If you'd like to come through this way..."
He ushered her through an intimidating set of double steel doors. Lentian curiously watched them swing shut. He returned a moment later, sneering at the children.
"Don't know what you snotty-nosed brats want. The only reason you're being let in here is because of your mother. The boss wants something with her."
With a last leering glare, he returned to the huddle in the corner. Lentian rutned to her brother, confusing plainly marking her chubby face.
"Ben-jah-meen," she said, clearly pronouncing each exaggerated syllable of the difficult name, "Wass 'notty-nose'?"
Her brother rolled his dull amber eyes.
"It's an insult."
"Wass 'in-"
"Oh, never mind. I'm going to see what those guys in the corner are up to."
Suddenly, a gap in the huddled knot of scientists emerged, and a small white-grey bundle of fur and dirt came bowling out, stopping and cowering miserably at the feet of Benjamin and Lentian. Benjamin stooped to pick it up, caressing its soft yet matted fur and whispering soothing words into its trembling ears.
"I would suggest you put that Eevee down, now."
The voice came from the knot of scientists, who were now spreading out further across the room. Another Eevee, this time a sandy brown colour, could be seen squirming and yelping in the arms of another scientist, who was clutching it tightly. There was obvious emphasis on the last word.
"Why?"
Benjamin's voice was smooth and even; obviously he was not in the slightest intimidated by the group of fully-grown men and women, slowly forming a ring around him. Lentian glanced around, worried, and took the opportunity to slip out through the steel double doors. She could still hear their voices, muted through the thick steel.
"It'd be in your best interests to, you filthy brat."
"My mother is obviously important to you." Lentian could almost imagine Benjamin rasing a wagging finger as he spoke. "Now what do you think your boss would think of you if you harmed me, her first and only son?"
"Why you... how dare..."
There was a resounding crash, and a muffled yell. Lentian moved away, backing up against a heavy oak door. From behind it drifted the sweet sound of her mother's voice, then a gruffer, male voice. Curious, Lentian pressed hear ear against the door.
"...a change of plan. You see, we want to take the experiments a stage further. We've heard rumors that the same tests can be conducted on humans; we want to see if this is really true."
Now her mother was speaking - "You mean... I- I suppose that would be plausible. Think of the possibilities..."
"You'd still be able to continue with your post... for the greater good..."
The voices were softer now. Lentian could only make out a few words.
"For the... greater... good..." Her mother's voice sounded quiet and dreamy, rather out of character. "Yes. It must be done."
There was a scuffling of feet, like somebody rising out of a chair. Hurriedly, Lentian dashed back into the main chamber, just in time to see Benjamin neatly sidestepping a grab from one of the scientists. His victim crashed to the cold tiled floor, and Benjamin gave a chuckle, the albino Eevee in his arms squealing with fear and delight.
"What's going on here?!"
A tall and imposing figure swept into the room. Lentian recognised the voice as the person her mother had been talking to. Sure enough, there was her mother; she had a dreamy look on her face. Benjamin froze as he gazed up, and one of the scientists took the opportunity to sieze the ginger and tear the Eevee away from him.
Strong hands gripped the small toddler, pinning back her arms and slamming her to the ground. She yelled as she was picked up and carried brusquely through the double steel doors. She could hear the cries of her brother echoing through the corridor from behind her. She caught a glimpse of her mother as she was hauled into a new, strange room. The normally strong and commanding woman seemed to be in a strange daze; her hazel eyes were fixed vacantly at the ceiling, and she was putting up no resistance to the man pulling her roughly along.
A prick in her side. Small, cotton-wool clouds of blackness began to claw at the edges of her vision. Her arms felt heavy and wooden, and her fluttering eyelids were beginning to close shut.
A bright, flashing light...
Silence.
*
A soft, repetitive beeping noise slowly brought the child to her senses. Much of her body felt numb; she could feel no response from her limbs, and a dull itching from her neck was all that assured her she was still alive, and not just some wanton spirit.
As her eyes slowly became accustomed to the twilight gloom, straining to pick up the watery moonlight filtering through the single window, she was able to make out a few details. Several chambers, softly humming to break the otherwise deafening silence, stood in the room, towering over her like stone soldiers. They were filled with a strange, seemingly colourless liquid, and figures were suspended in two of them. Maybe she recognised them, but her memory was dull and scorched from the drugs she had been given earlier... How long earlier? She could have been in a comatose state for hours, days, weeks, months? Was it possible for years to pass in such a seemingly short time of sleep?
A soft prickling on her hand made her turn her head down. A bubble, clear and shimmering like a glass bead, was nudging against her hand. A few wired and patches lead up from her arm to the beeping unit above her head. For the first time, she was aware of the oxygen mask strapped to her face, and that the system she was in might be the only thing keeping her alive.
It was a terrifying thought. Tucking her head close to her chest, she began to silently cry, her suspended frame wracked with her sobs, and her glassy tears melting in the liquid surrounding her.
"...Lentian? Lentian, can you hear me? Oh, for goodness' sakes, wake up already!"
Delicate eyelids fluttered open, and the child raised her head to look about her.
"Good, you're awake. Lentian, they've taken us out of the support systems. I suppose that means whatever they were doing to us has finished."
Lentian turned her head, to look at her brother. His messy ginger hair was still damp, but he was grinning. But he seemed different-
Lentian's eyes widened, and one hand went to her mouth.
Sandy-brown ears rose out of the mop of hair covering her brother's head. A furry neck-ruff covered his collarbones, and a tail wound around his knees. Benjamin looked at her curiously, and Lentian pointed a trembling finger at his tail. His eyes followed her hand, sliding in horrified anticipation down his leg to-
"What the-"
Lentian sat in her cage, shuddering silently. Her glossy, pale tail was wound miserably around her ankles, and a few scraps of clothing clung to her frame. Fur covered her chest and neck, and long ears drooped in quiet depression.
Her mother, now clad in brilliant snow-white fur, had seemed almost pleased at her new appearance. No cage for her; instead, a cushy chair in the boss's office, while they sat and discussed the morphing. It had been quite a struggle to get the sandy-furred Benjamin into a cage; he was showing strange new skills as a fighter that Lentian had never seen in him. But the numberless scientists, grinning and leering, had finally managed to bundle him in. His cage sat a few feet away from hers, and his pale hands clung to the bars as he stared vacantly out.
The scientists had done a little bit of explaining as their mother was lead away.
"We've extracted the DNA from those little Eevee you saw earlier." The scientist gave a horrid grin. "Of course, we managed to obtain more from the shiny. That's why you and your mother share the same spliced Eevee genes."
Benjamin had scowled at him.
"This is just sick. What kind of organisation are you?"
The scientist had lashed out at the cage with a small tazer rod. It had stuck into Benjamin's tail, and sparks flew from it. Benjamin howled, whipping his tail backwards.
"You'd better keep your mouth shut, brat." the man had hissed through clenched teeth. "From now on, you obey our every whim. Got it?" He held the tazer menacingly in his right hand, and Benjamin had cowered into a corner.
The siblings were kept sadly caged, barely ever allowed out of their cage, or from the small, five-foot square patch of dusty yellow grass that they were permitted onto when the weather was clear. The scientists performed countless examinations, little tests and experiments, and she was monitored every hour of the day. Sometimes, she was given newer, better-fitting clothes to suit her growing frame. They were fed on a diet of a strange, high-protein biscuit-vegetable mix, and their needed minerals and vitamins were dissolved into their water. They were treated as if pets; tame animals, to be treated and beaten as such. Of course, the scientists did everything they could to keep the condition of their subjects as high as possible. The siblings were kept healthy and well-rested, if not happy. Benjamin slowly changed into a Flareon 'morph, after they spiked his dish with a few fragments of Fire Stone. However, Lentian did not evolve. Whether this was because there had been an error in her morphing, or whether the scientists just chose not to try, was unbeknownst to her.
Slowly and methodically, Lentian was breathing heavily. Filling her lungs with the outside air, sweet after the stale, bitter taste of the room they'd spent the last few winter months in, she felt simply extatic. How strange that, even in her state, she could still be happy. She'd come to forget the things she had initially missed; good clothes, the reassuring company of her mother, friends... they were luxuries that, in her mind, had never existed. They were simply some misty, forgotten dream. She found happiness in simple things; when the scientists brought in fruit-flavoured mineral powder to pour into her water dish and bring the liquid to life; when she was allowed fresh vegetables or fruits; and the rare occasions, maybe once or twice a year, or at christmas-time, when they were allowed a small treat. Perhaps a small packet of yoghurt-coated nuts, or a chipolata or two. Even the distant call of the birds, warbling in the forest a mile or so away, or the sweet scent of fresh-blossoming spring flowers, subdued in the winter months, brought joy to her heart.
She'd spent a total of twenty-two years in the laboratory, bringing her up to the tender age of twenty-five. How different now was she really in comparison to the wavering child she had been so many years ago?
"Len-KROOOMF- Lentian! You can frolick later, right now you need to come inside."
The scientist pulled out a handkerchief and sneezed explosively into it, beckoning Lentian inside. Lentian decided it was probably just another one of the frequent tests or examinations that were performed, and followed.
Benjamin was there, flicking his firey tail around idly. There were also two strange 'morphs that Lentian had never seen before. The female was a Glaceon 'morph, the male a Leafeon. They seemed rather flustered, shuffling their feet nervously, with fake, plastic smiles plastered across their slightly red faces.
"Well... how am I supposed to say this?" The scientist seemed anxious, mumbling something about 'incomplete brief... know I'm no good with the subjects...'
Shrugging, he tried to recompose himself. "We'll be letting you go on... a sort of scientific break. Yeah, like a break away from the lab." The scientist seemed quite pleased with this idea. "Of course, don't even think about escaping. You'll be wearing special shock-emitting microchips." A malicious smile twisting the corners of his mouth, he held out one hand. Lentian peered closely at it; it seemed to be some sort of chip. Wires ran across its metallic surface, and it emitted an ominous crackling noise.
Suddenly, the scientist lunged at the Glaceon 'morph. Sliding open a panel on the chip, he rammed it onto the Glaceon's ear. Spikes dug deep into her flesh, and a few spots of crimson could be seen staining her delicate, pale-blue fur. She whimpered gently in pain.
"These microchips allow us to track your every move." The scientist pulled out what looked like a small, handheld laptop, displaying it with a flourish to the Eon 'morphs. A bright, flashing dot could be seen near the center of it. The scientist gave the Glaceon 'morph a violent shove, and she stumbled forward. The dot moved with her. "We'll give you a certain radius in which you can move freely around. Move out of this radius-"
The man jabbed a few buttons on his console. A small light winked on and off on the Glaceon's chip, and is began humming. Suddenly, jolts of electricity began to shoot out of it. The 'morph cried out in pain. "There are several levels of the electricity. This is relatively low-level stuff. The further you move out of the radius, the more intense the zapping becomes. Like so..."
He pushed a few more buttons, and the morph's yells turned to screams.
"Of course, we'll be splitting you up. Lentian, you'll be living with Belit." He gestured towards the leafeon morph. A scientist took them roughly and bundled them into the back of a van. Lentian didn't even say goodbye to her dear brother. After a boring yet exciting journey, they were pulled out. The scientist took out a giant clipper and clipped Lentian and Belit. Then he said "This is your house." and drove off. The couple looked at the small country cottage behind them and laughed properly for the first time in many years. They were living together, not in a lab, out in the country with lots of pokemon where their hearts belonged!
Lentian and Belit instantly took a liking to each other. They were very similar, and were the first new people either of them had met scince coming to their labs. They descided that they would never return.
One time when the scientists were bringing them supplies, one of them let the morphs in on a secret. They were intending to see whether or not pokemorph children could be born! Lentian and Belit were disgusted. That night, they escaped.
Lentian found a screwdriver. she felt for Belit's chip. Then she worked at forcing it off. It took some time, pain and blood, but at last it came off and Belit was free! In return Belit took off Lentian's. They set off down the country lane, until it got dark and they still hadn't found any signs of civilization.
The next day, they came across an oddish. "Excuse me, but I've seen you wondering around, and if you're looking for more humans they're that way." it told tham, giving directions. They used hem and ended up in a small village which gave Lentian a strong scense of deja'vu. This was the village in which she grew up! If that was the case, the hated lab was about a mile away. She recognized her old house, and walked up to it. It was abandond, perhaps by her `grieving` mother.
Lentian stepped inside. She could hear gentle voices among the pitter-patter of small pokemon's feet. Up in his old bedroom, she found her brother, along with the glaseon morph! Never had she been so glad to see him! They had both had had the same idea of escape.
The next day, the reunited couples set off for a larger village. It took them three days to reached it. There they remeanded, and got married! Lentian gave birth to two eevee morph twins, one of which was Sulteron.
Sulteron and her brother went to an ordinary school for a while, but they soon discovered that they did not belong among all the laughing, pointing and jeering of being the only two 'morphs in the school. They were uncomfortable there, and as soon as their mother found out, she sarted searching for a good school for them.
Luckily the twins were only in the public school for two terms before their mother found the perfect school- a school just for pokemorphs!
Sulteron and her brother settled in extremely well, making loads of friends. They were shocked at how many people were like them, and how many had gone through terrible hardships. Sulteron helself had only been occationally experimented upon. Others had been trapped their entire live, only escaping to go to school, be free and make freinds. No longer were their ears poked, their ruffs tugged, or their tails delibratedly trodden on. In fact, at the new school, bullying was practically unheard of! The twins and their new freinds were happier than they could have dreamed of being at school, and stayed there their entire school lives.
Originally, Sulteron was very jealous of her brother. He had evolved into a Jolteon a few days after Christmas, when Sulteron and her brother were about seven. The stone had been a present from a few of Denkou's school friends (Namely, James and Mitachi), and he had seemed surprised at the present - but thoroughly enjoyed his new form.
"When will I evolve?" Sulteron had insistently asked their mother, Lentian, a few days later, who had smiled back and said that Sulteron might never evolve at all. It was simply good fortune that her brother had been able to use the stone he was given. Sulteron didn't turn up for lessons that day - she was too busy sulking around the back of her dormitory. Sulking in an area where the sun's rays creeped in through a crack in the blinds. It wasn't much, but it was enough. Sulteron began to feel all tingly. She gasped, and looked at herself. She was giving ff an eerey white glow, brighter than the sunlight around her. She more confused than she had ever been before in her life. Her body, ears, fur and tail twisted, grew and changed shape. Then she realized. She was evolving!
When it was all over, she looked in a mirror on the lemon coloured wall. Amoungst all the the bags, shoes, coats and other jumble, Sultaron could see herself. She hardly regognized herself. She was a thourough green, and had a strange orb on her forehead, which she instantely took a liking to. It took a while, but Sulteron realized what she had become, for she had an interest in Eevee and its evolutions. She was a wonderful espeon 'morph! Sulteron cheered up after that.
Her parents feel she is in need of an adventure to fulfill even her imagination. They realized just what to do when they saw her playing so happily and natruly with the pokemon of a nearby field. When she returned they asked the question she'd been dreaming of- "When do you want to start your pokemon adventure?"
Of course, she replied "As soon as possible". It took a couple of months, but she and her brother were exepted as able trainers, and are due to collect their starter as soon as they recieve a letter confirming the date they collect it. The two are extremely nervous, as they have a phobea of labs, inherrited from their mother's morphing. They aggreed to be in and out as soon as possible.
Other: Just a little reminder, she has got all the powers an Espeon does (telepathy, telekenisis, telling the weather etc), but she hates using them and they're not as strong. Don't worry, she probably won't use them much exept for the telling the weather bit, 'cos Espeon do that on instint. And she will definately not be able to control anyone, so don't worry about that, either ;D
