Naomi (Half pokethrope form)
Name: Naomi Pendragon
Age: Sixteen years of age
Gender: Female
Profession: Trainer (Note: She is also an Espeon Pokethrope.)
Hometown: Snowpoint City, Sinnoh Region
Description; Personality: Naomi is always an odd character to describe, because her personality is just very...well, odd. She has an almost childlike way of seeing things. She thinks that everything has a fun side to it, no matter how awful. However, this view on everything has led her to be overly cheerful and, on occasion, hyper. The hyperness also leads to her being slightly touchy, and at those times, it is very easy to set her explosive temper off. She knows this flaw, so she tries to restrain herself from the hyperness and stick to her cheerful, friendly self. With her cheer comes a nurturing, motherly side of her personality, which loves all creatures, an overwhelming joy that celebrates all light and life. This is part of the reason why she wants to dance when she is old enough, see history for more details. The only time when this cheer stops is when she has her sketch book out, or, when she is dancing. Though she is not a particularly amazing artist, she's pretty good, and falls into a kind of calm haze while drawing. She doesn't really seem to care what everyone else thinks, and just does what SHE wants to do. She has a rather cocky air about her.
Now, while Naomi may seem a perfect, well-rounded character, she has some major personality flaws. First of all, there are two main times when her insecurities really become noticeable. One is when she is about to meet a new person/pokemon, meeting a new person or pokemon, and just having a first conversation with them. She will do one of two things: A: Blush and stutter and just be kind of shy and not very talkative; she also tends to stare. Or, B: Become completely reclusive and hide in a little shell, refusing to speak. Unfortunately, this isn't a very strong shell, so it is easily cracked. When that happens, all of her fears and insecurities are dumped out, plain as day. What if they don't like me? I can't do this alone! What happens if it starts to thunderstorm? What if that Pidgeot REALLY doesn't like me and picks me up and carries me off and drops me? And on...and on...and on. It's all exposed. The mind-numbing fear of thunder and lightning. Whenever she hears the deafening crash of thunder or the blinding flash of lightning, she goes running for the nearest open door to hide. Though she can stand them as the fear is not as bad as thunderstorms, she has a real dislike of heights. If any way avoidable, she will, even if it means taking the long way around. And, even though she hides it well, she deeply cares about what other people think of her, and crave their acceptance. Also, Naomi has a bit of a pride problem. She can't stand anyone challenging her decision once she decides to stick by it, and she has trouble accepting help from others. She is slightly flaky, and is often late to most any appointment she makes.
Description; Appearance: Naomi, in Snowpoint City, has always been considered to have a slightly unusual appearance. Her long blond hair, which end at her lower back, is usually tied up in a ponytail. Her skin a relatively normal white-ish tone, but slightly on the paler side. At first, her eyes appear to be a sterling silver. However, if one would care to take a closer look, one could see that they are the lightest if blues. She weighs an average weight for her five foot four inch height. She has a light, lean-looking, sinewy build, like that of a dancer. (Mind you, she's not as skinny as she appears in her sprite. No, then she would be anorexic. ;P) Wherever she goes, she always the necklace she got when she was very young - a small gold ankh hanging on a light gold chain, usually hidden under her clothes. Normally, she will be found wearing a red tank top with black capris, occasionally with a small black vest over it. She also owns a pair of black gloves. She prefers to go barefoot, however, when she has to, she will put on a pair of black flats. She is often covered in dirt and scratches, from taking the "scenic route" around. She has a small scar that splits the skiing between her thumb and forefinger, though, being the irresponsible and flaky thing she is, she can't remember where she got it. All in all, Naomi is rather pretty, though nothing exceptional.
Description; History: (Since I am the all-knowing Night, I can tell you things Naomi herself doesn't remember. Tee hee.)
Naomi Pendragon was born as one of the twins of two scientists working for a team. She and her brother Coryn were quickly taken away for experimenting. Using methods unknown today due to a massive lab fire, they were able to make the two of the pokethropes. However, for some odd reason, they could not make them transform. After multiple DNA tests, which proved that they were, indeed, pokethropes, the team decided to send them up north for further observation and experiment. But, as they were driving up the route, the newbie grunt left the back of the trunk open, and the twins walked outside, unnoticed. They were three at the time, and their first memories are of wandering into a small village.
Naomi and Coryn were taken in by Vladimir and Saria Pendragon, at the request of the Gym leader at the time. There, they grew up happy, knowing nothing of their past. It was also there that they both learned their love of pokemon. Her first experience even seeing pokemon was there, watching the Sneasel pull playful pranks on the unsuspecting Snorunt. To this day, the Sneasel and the Snorunt plushie she received from her parents sit as far away from each other as possible, to keep the Sneasel from hurting the Snorunt. Of course, this is where her pokemon plushie collection started, and she takes the Sneasel with her almost everywhere. However, it also made her very sad that the Snorunt held grudges, and afterward, when they evolved into Glalies or, occasionally, Froslasses, they would chase them furiously around.
Her first contact with her dream, dance, came when her parents decided to take a trip to Sunnyshore City. (Her brother decided to stay behind with the library.) While there, she saw the most amazing thing: The Caravan. The Caravan is a small group of people completely dedicated to the arts and entertainment. As she watched the firebreathers, the artists, and all the other members, she realized something: All of them worked with their pokemon for their performances. All, except for one group, the dancers. For a while, she could not understand why they didn't use their pokemon, and when she got up the courage to ask the dance mistress, she smiled and replied, "A way to dance with pokemon like that hasn't been invented yet." Then, she smiled and winked, joking, "Who knows? Maybe you will invent that on day." Taking her words to heart as five year olds do, that has become her dream: To become a dancer and create a style of dance that involves pokemon.
At seven years old, Naomi was as curious and mischievous as most seven year olds, which is very. And, of course, in Snowpoint City, there is one thing that provokes even adults to wonder what it hides: The Snowpoint Temple. Of course, Naomi had a field day tricking the guards and finding all the secret passageways in. (With help from her brother, of course.) However, whenever she was caught, she was punished with being stuck inside for a whole week without her plushies. And, as expected, she was caught most of the time. But, there was one event that really made an impression on her. After luring the guard away, telling her that a Staraptor had gotten lost and broke it's wing out near the entrance to town, she snuck in, and, amazingly, made it all the way to the bottom. She sat there, staring up at the statue of the strange pokemon for hours, clinging to her Sneasel plushie. While she sat there, she could feel a kind of...calm settle over her, as she listened to the wind howling above, she could have sworn it was the spirits of pokemon, the spirit of the strange, huge, four-armed pokemon speaking to her. After three hours, she was found, still sitting, watching the statue with huge eyes. She was, of course, punished for sneaking in by being forced to stay inside for a whole four days. However, no punishment, no spiritual feeling, no giant pokemon talking to her, not even her Sneasel plushie, could have prepared her for the surprise that awaited her the next morning.
As Naomi stretched, waking up the next morning, the leaned back on her hind legs, stretching out her front ones before shifting her weight forward, flicking her ears, lashing her tail to wake up her muscles, she noticed something. Tail? Ears? Weird stretch pattern? She glanced at her back. Lavender fur ran down her back, which was parallel to the ground, and covered the rest of her body. She had a TAIL, which split in two at the end, and long ears. As turned around to look at herself in the mirror, she jumped. An Espeon! Amazingly, she changed back within five minutes, and she was much too surprised to tell her parents. However, she did tell her brother, as they told each other everything. But, as with everything Coryn does, his reaction was strange. He kind of smirked, dropping his head slightly so the glare hid his eyes behind his glasses, and murmured, "Hm. Interesting...It continues to develop," and walked off on his own muttering to himself. Naomi found she could not control these transformations, though she still tries to. And, after much experimenting while in her other lavender form, she found she could not attack with any of the attacks that a normal Espeon could, be it Psychic or Morning Sun or Growl. However, as she discovered, she became very perceptive to others' emotions and was able to decipher them while in her other form.
Other: As all characters are constantly in development, all this is subject to minor change.
