Down Route One

[Kairi Hill]

Kairi and her Pokemon Naomi entered Route One. She heard that if she was lucky she may run into a Pachirisu here. It was another one of her favorite Pokemon right after Pikachu. "So, maybe we can find one. It will be a hard fight though as Pachirisu is an electric type just like you Naomi. Plus a Pachirisu is rarely seen here so it may take a while to find it. Let's begin looking," Kairi said.

Kairi and Naomi begin looking for a Pachirisu hoping to find one. Naomi walked down on the ground on all fours sniffing the ground trying to pick up the scent of a Pachirisu. Kairi figured maybe she should catch some other Pokemon first and use it to battle the Pachirisu. Kairi didn't know if Naomi would stand a chance or not since it was also an electric type.

Anyway, Kairi continued looking around for the Pachirisu hoping that it would show up. Kairi figured she could catch other Pokemon while here as well. But she'd make sure to save at least one PokeBall to catch the Pachirisu with.

Kairi wanted one very badly. This was getting them nowhere though. They had been searching for an hour, nothing. It was already time for lunch so they stopped to eat. Kairi sit out the picnic blanket and made herself a sandwich and pulled out some potato chips and a drink. She then fixxed her Pokemon her food.

The two then sit down and ate enjoying the nice breeze. It was a nice day today on Route One. Kairi leaned back against a tree and relaxed with her Pokemon. Naomi laid back as well. "Chaaa," she said enjoying herself. "The breeze feels nice don't it?" Kairi asked her.

"Pi," Naomi agreed sighing. The fresh air felt very nice. But they couldn't sit there forever. They had to get moving otherwise they'd be camping out tonight. Kairi and Naomi finished eating there lunch and Kairi packed up her things and continued on walking.

Kairi was still determined to find a Pachirisu. But no matter how much she searched none popped up. "What is wrong with this Route? Why isn't there any wild Pokemon living in it?" Kairi wondered. "Pika?" Naomi said confused as well, shaking her head in wonder.

But Kairi wouldn't give up. She just had to have a Pachirisu no matter what. She just felt like she just had to have one and she wouldn't quit until one showed up,"Let's keep searching Naomi. A Pachirisu's bound to show up soon," Kairi told her.

"Pika," Naomi agreed. The two continued walking down Route One hoping to run into a Pachirisu. Kairi yawned from boredom. She picked an apple out of her bag and started eating it as she and Naomi walked down the path,"Anything?" She asked her Pokemon. Naomi shook her head no. "Keep searching, Naomi," Kairi encouraged her Pokemon. Naomi put her nose back to the ground searching out Pachirisu. The two kept on searching for the hard to find Pachirisu hoping to run into it.

[Birdybot]

Arching through the sky, the smallest of bird Pokémon fluttered across the sky. ~Tai tai! Pipipi!~[/color] it twittered, swooping a little lower to see what was going on. It appeared... this trainer and Pokémon was hunting!

Tailow's instinct screamed at it to get away from these tracking couple; this was probably the reason Kairi and Naomi had not seen a single Pokémon yet; they'd been too busy tracking for just one Pokémon to actually pay attention to their surroundings. If they had, they would have noticed that they had, in fact, passed a Pachirisu, destressed at the fact that his sibling had gone missing on a trip to the edge of the route, who had scarpered before he even was noticed.

Although Tailow had no idea what Kairi and Naomi were looking for, Tailow would not flee. Tailow wanted to help. Tailow like to help. It was what it did. After all, it was good manners for a gentlemen like himself. The bird Pokémon descided that even if it meant capture, he would help this Coordinator. After all, a travelling trip and so on wasn't so bad, now, was it?

Swooping to a land nearby, the bird cocked his head. Humans wouldn't understand him, of course, but he could always try. He chirped and fluttered his wings, making signals and pointing to things and so on to make the message that he wanted to help and possible fight clear. That message was an offering of a battle to train Naomi up, and if Naomi won, he would assist them in whatever it was they were doing, although he had no idea of it at the moment.[/size]

[Kairi Hill]

"Uh, what did you say?" Kairi asked. "Chu!" Naomi said sparks flying from her cheecks. "Oh it wants to battle us. Ok. Tailow would be a good Pokemon to have on our team. Get it Naomi! Use Thundershock!" Kairi screamed knowing in fact that Tailow is weak against electric attacks. "Pikachuuuuu!" Naomi screamed releasing her Thundershock straight up at the Tailow.

[Birdybot]

Tailow trilled a high note as he watched the thundershock move quickly through the air towards him. Ha! If that was Naomi's speed, then watch out! Tailow were known for being extremely fast, but to make up for the gain, their Defense stat was remarkably poor. Therefore, although the bird was able to dodge attacks, it would take much less to defeat them. This Tailow presently flapped his wings, rising swiftly higher until he caught an air current and shot away just miliseconds before the Thundershock cut through the empty air where he had been flying. He was now on the other side of Naomi. He then shot down for a Peck, which wouldn't have much effect if it hit, anyway.

[Kairi Hill]

"Use Thundershock again!" Kairi called. This Tailow was strong. But Kairi wasn't going to give up. Even though bird Pokemon were weak against electric attacks. She didn't want to hurt it though. But this was the only way to catch Pokemon. 'Maybe after one hit it will give up and decide just to come with me so it won't get hurt,' Kairi thought to herself. She watched the Tailow flying down low and Naomi releasing Thundershock. She heard once a bird Pokemon was going into a dive it was hard to back out once they were very close to the ground. So, Kairi figured if Tailow tried to avoid the attack it would crash into the ground and still take damage.

[Birdybot]

Tailow the oncoming Thundershock attack, and his eyes widened in terror. A super effective move! That wasn't good... not good at all. He swallowed as he angled his primary feathers in a manner which might hopefully mean he would successfully dodge the attack, feeling very helpless indeed as he saw how close the ground was to him... he twittered in fear as he angled his wings lower... the Thundershock pressed him even lower... he was now caught between the flow of electricity and the ground...

~TAI!~[/color] Tailow cried out in pain as a tiny amount of the Thundershock skimmed him, allowing free access to the rest of it. He felt weak when the attack ended, and it left him in a daze. Because of this, Tailow lost control of his movement and fell to the ground, sliding a few feet before shakily getting up and spitting out a mouth full of dirt. He flapped his wings, getting closer to Naomi for that Peck attack he was so determined to strike.[/size]

"Ok, Naomi use Tail Whip!" Kairi called. "Pika!" Naomi cried. She dodged the Peck attack. Then jumped up into the air coming down swinging her tail for a Tail Whip attack trying to lower Tailow's defense. Kairi could tell Tailow was getting weak now. If Tail Whip worked, she'd use another Thundershock attack and hopfully Tailow would at least be weak enough to catch by then. She watched her Pokemon attack with Tail Whip hoping the attack would hit and lower Tailow's defense.

[Birdybot]

Tailow trilled a high note as he watched the adorable Pikachu perform the move. It was an odd choice, considering how weak his Defense was already, but Tailow could hardly object in the midst of a battle. He felt the stat slipping away as he soared out of the attack Naomi had dodged, twittering angrily. He had now worked out the kinks in his muscles from the Thundershock, and although he felt fine, he still had had a little slice cut from his HP cake. Now the Tail Whip was over, he lined his beak up with Naomi and dropped rapidly, in that Peck attack. The last too had not hit, so this one would.

[Kairi Hill]

The attack had worked. The Tailow's defense had dropped by one point. Kairi saw the Tailow fly up high and come down with a Peck attack,"Ok, you may take damage but jump straight at Tailow and when it connects with you use Thundershock!" Kairi ordered. Naomi waited, and when Tailow hit her with Peck she released Thundershock as soon as she was hit. Since Tailow was touching her body there would be no way to dodge. Kairi got a PokeBall ready and hid it behind her back.

[Birdybot]

Tailow were a Pokémon with low Defense, and this Tailow's had already been weakened. However, this Tailow was determined not to give up. Him and Naomi were exactly equal on strength, being of the same level. He could do this! Even at this disadvantage, he could still turn things around and rise to the top!

The shock ripped through his body, sending his muscles into spasm as they reacted to the Thundershock. That was why you should only touch electric or possibly electric fences with the back of your hand; so you do not clench them in your fist. Tailow's positioning made him grab onto the Pikachu involuntarily, squawking in agony. He finally broke free. Very weak now, he made his way for a last, determined Peck attack.

[Kairi Hill]

Kairi watched the Tailow get shocked to death. It looked pretty weak now. Maybe weak enough to be caught. It looked as if Kairi's plan had worked. Naomi looked pretty weak right about now. She was panting pretty hard,"Naomi return!" Kairi called. She walked over weakly to Kairi's feet. Kairi threw the PokeBall at the weaken bird Pokemon hoping to catch it.

[Birdybot]

Tailow cooed, too tired to bat away the Pokéball. However, once the red light had enveloped him and drawn him inside, it began to shake violently. Maybe he would be caught, maybe he wouldn't... it was a chance. There was no way of telling right now-

~Tai! Pipipipi!~[/color] Tailow cried as the plastic catching device fell back into Kairi's hands, still usable but having failed to catch Tailow. The bird Pokémon seemed a little stronger somehow. He was a little confused, for there was no opponent; one more attack would make him faint, then he would offer no resistance to being caught. Plus, Naomi would gain one or two levels, becoming even stronger; the goal of any trainer or coordinator.[/size]

[Kairi Hill]

"Come on!" Kairi pleaded, as she watched the PokeBall shake. Just then Tailow poped back out,"Darn it!" Kairi demanded. She didn't get how it could of came back out. Tailow looked like it was hurt very badly. So Kairi didn't want to hurt it any worse. So she took out another PokeBall and threw it at the Tailow again, dropping the used one onto the ground.

[Night of Fire]

Quickly, the Taillow came to a decision as it watched the pokeball draw nearer and nearer.. ~Tai! Pipipi!~

[/color] It cried, knocking the pokeball away with it's wings to take off and hover in the air. He had said that he was going to help this girl and her pokemon become stronger, and by Arceus, that's what he would do! The only way for her pokemon to gain levels would be to knock other pokemon out, and then Naomi would gain levels. So, he told himself, he would be knocked out, then go along willingly with Kairi. He waited patiently for her to bring Naomi back to the field.[/blockquote][/size]

Kairi could see it now. The only way she was going to catch this Tailow was to faint. Well, after all she'd get both the Tailow and Naomi would level up as well. "Ok, Naomi show Tailow were not playing around anymore! Thundershock it again and this time make it count!" Kairi screamed. Naomi nodded and used Thundershock again. This time taking a lot of time putting everything she had into this one single attack hoping to make a cirtical hit and knock the Tailow out cold. Naomi shot Thundershock at the Tailow. "Come on! Please hit!" Kairi begged as she watched the Thundershock fly towards the Tailow. She hoped it would hit it, and hopefully knock out the bird type. This was after all the first day of her Pokemon journey and she was already off on a bad start,'What a way to start a day,' Kairi sighed.
